Breakfast with kids at The Pavillon Downtown Dubai

New on our must try list ... A visit to The Pavillon, the trendy cafés situated right in the heart of Downtown now offers the perfect kid-friendly setting, including a large play area for children of all ages and yummy treats for little ones.

The café’s eclectic décor, large work stations, and deliciously healthy food have made it a popular dining destination for Dubai’s young cosmopolitan scene. The recently added play area for children, makes also perfect for families and energetic kids. The play area includes building blocks, toy cars, fun big stuffed animals, and many other toys that will keep the kiddies entertained if the mommies want to spend some time together. Kids can interact with each other and keep playtime going during meal time.

Not sure the young and stylish designer crowd will be so enthusiastic about this new addition but we are delighted and can not wait to come by for some yummy treats. The Pavilion’s diverse menu is also family friendly and includes many organic options that the little ones will love, such as Pancakes, Brioche French Toast, Pasta Alfredo, Open Face Sandwich, or the Pan-Fried Chicken Breast. Families can also enjoy the venue’s exquisite buffet selection on weekends, at the fabulous Bench Brunch. Starting from 10am to 3pm on Fridays and Saturdays, the brunch is the perfect weekend activity to enjoy as a family, with an extensive buffet full of freshly squeezed juices, house-made pastries, salads, sandwiches, and much more.

Thank you to The Pavillon for welcoming us Dubai Mamas and provide us and the kiddos with cool new dining option! We look forward to experience the family friendly café with its large play area and selection of healthy snacks and meals.

5 tops destinations for Eid…

Another Eid holiday is looming large, so it’s time to look at a possible short escape to paradise, whether it be beach, scenery, culture or wildlife based. Our friends at Lightfoot Travel have suggested five possible destinations that combine wow-factor and convenience, served by direct flights with the UAE’s best airlines and where late September is amongst the best possible times to visit.

Phuket, Thailand: Trisara
Sanskrit for ‘The Garden in the Third Heaven’, Trisara’s name is a fitting description of the splendours you will experience whilst staying in this intimate, all-villa resort in Phuket. Each of the spacious villas ooze Thai charm and boast their own ocean-facing, private pools, surrounded by a tropical forest and exotic gardens. A relaxing retreat with an array of experiences to entertain guests: private boat charters, world-class spa, private cooking classes a Kid’s Club and much more.

South Coast, Sri Lanka: Cape Weligama
Located just 30 minutes from Galle, Cape Weligama’s dramatic cliffside location, offering sprawling views of the Indian Ocean, is just one of the hotels many appeals. The collection of private residences are designed in the style of a traditional (but highly opulent) Sri Lankan village, with chic, contemporary and luxurious interiors. The highlight is their ‘no bills to sign’ policy, meaning that everything from dining to beverages are included – the makings of a stress free holiday. Historic, UNESCO World Heritage listed Galle Fort, is also nearby for a spot of culture and sightseeing.

Lower Zambezi, Zambia: Sausage Tree Camp
There are few places in Africa that offer such a combination of incredible wildlife, varied activities, resplendent scenery and luxury safari camps as Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park. Activities include day and night game drives, walking safaris, river cruises, canoe safaris and tiger fishing, much of it based around the timeless, mighty Zambezi. Sausage Tree is probably the most opulent camp in the park, with expansive and stylish tented rooms (some with private pools that elephants like to drink from), and probably best of all, a private guiding experience for all guests, meaning your unforgettable African wildlife experiences will be shared only with the guide and your nearest and dearest.

North Male Atoll, Maldives: One & Only Reethi Rah
Nothing spells out luxury more than the One&Only Reethi Rah, a true Maldivian paradise offering unrivalled decadence amidst a heavenly tropical backdrop, filled with sandy coves and turquoise bays. This is a sanctuary where couples and families intermingle seamlessly, making the most of diverse activities to suit all tastes. There is wall climbing, tennis, diving & snorkelling, plus a myriad of water sports activities, game fishing, and even painting classes. Additionally, for those that like this sort of thing, there is also a strong likelihood of the chance for a touch of celebrity spotting.

Ubud, Bali: Como Shambhala
Detoxing, rejuvenating and relaxing has never been so stylish and comfortable. The COMO Shambhala Estate, located along a riverbank on the outskirts of Ubud, is Bali’s most enticing wellness retreat. Guests can tailor-make their program based on specific personal requirements, incorporating daily classes, exploring the mystical surroundings or simply kicking back at this glorious hotel. Getting back into shape has rarely been so enjoyable.

Happy First Birthday Little Jo

This week we celebrated Little Jo's first birthday. It was a small family affair in shades of pink and grey. Happy time with love ones, balloons, cake and bubbly. On this occasion, here's a few words to you my sweetheart…

Dear Josefin,

I can’t believe it’s been a year already, it has gone so quickly just like predicted. When you were born September 2nd around 4pm, I was taking by surprise. It felt so right to have you and my fears of being able to love another child as much as your big sister Luella, just vanished and I immediately loved you, with unconditional love.

I admit the first couple months were a bit challenging but we managed the witching hours of crying and hip dysplasia. Sometime when the day was chaotic or the night sleepless, I was hoping for the time to speed up and was not enjoying those precious newborn moments. I guess I felt overwhelmed. I feel guilty about it, but somehow, it helped me now cherish every moments even more. By 3 months, it all settled and we really felt blessed to have such wonderful vibrant little baby girl.

Being my second baby I knew how fast the time flies by, and I wanted to soak up every moment…

By 6 months, you already had teeth. We love that adorable goofy look, thanks to the gap between your two upper tooth. You are such a smiler, you warm my heart every morning when I come into your room. By this time you started to show some musical interest, bouncing to the music, and shaking your head with big bright happy eyes. Maybe you will like to sing as well, you can be so chatty and LOUD in your own dialect.

By 10 months, you were always on the go. Getting an expert at crawling and pulling yourself up. You developed a passion for climbing up and down… you like to be busy. And you keep me busy. I started to see your personality develop, a fascinating time.

Now at 12 months, I look back at this year with you happy little soul and I am so thankful for the love and happiness you brought me. I can't wait to see what this year brings us and to see you grow into a very determinate little toddler. But please don't grow to fast, let us enjoy those precious years… We love you little Jo!
