Something about us...

Today, I wanted to share with you two photos that Luella took with my iPhone. Please meet our extended family members, Vovve and Franky. They are scruffy, run down and old time favorites. They mean the world to my daughter and somehow to a certain extend to us as well.

Franky from Frankfurt is kind of a soft cloth bunny. Luella was 6 months when he became her first best sleeping companion. He stays in her bed and wait quietly for her to come at nap time or for night sleep... She tries to sneak him out of bed now and then... but she knows the rule!

Vovve (doggy in Swedish), is a little dog, and he's not so cute! He's a "freebie", a gift from the hotel we stayed at in Turkey. Luella was 18 months and from day one, they became inseparable. He has travelled the world and followed her to many places.

They will always be part of our family memories, and with her for ever.

What about your children cuddly toys? Feel free to share stories and photos of your children snugly companions. I would love to create a collage of those beautiful children memories.

New " hang out" for family and friends

Family and Friends is a new learning environment opening in our Dubai community on September 1st. They offer an early years educational programme (EYEP) for children from 14 months to 4 years old.

There is more to it! This holistic learning environment offers a range of activities and classes for children like dance, drama, exercise and also martial arts. You will also find Arabic lessons for all age groups, play areas and developmental classes for children from birth upwards. Need more, check out the first aid training and nutrition classes. What a great initiative! Bringing different nationalities and cultures together in social activities.
I look forward to check it out my return to Dubai!

Visit the website for more.

You are all invited to the open Thursday September 1st  to have a look and meet the staff.

A few good things - this week

Candy necklace, easy & cute

Bed in a bag (here)
Thinking of doing my own as a read and play station in Luella’s bedroom.
Off to Ikea to get pillow cases and cushions fillers and with a minimum sawing… voila!

Crayola art
While looking online this week for cool stuff to do and share with you, this artwork poped up a few times. This art piece from Etsy seller JKCreate (buy it here) has turned into a DIY project. Have a look and you might feel artsy as well. Perfect theme for the back to school season. Tutorial here by Unsimple Living.

Too cool for school

Back to school shopping suggestion: head down to Puma store.
The new collection for kids ticks all the boxes, new technology, quality, eco friendly and recycled material, comfy design and right on trend “old school” hip hop inspiration look. Check out the clothing line, footwear and accessories on the new Puma kids website. www.puma.com/kids

Don’t miss the Puma DJ shoes. The new trainers inspired by Puma vintage basketball collection actually “play” music. Oh yea! The sound of your movement to be exact. Walk, run, jump or dance to activate 3 different sounds heard through the speaker in the tongue of the sneaker. Imagine the fun for our little rock stars. You will be pleased to know, there is an “off” button.

A few things...

Online picks of the week. Enjoy!

TeuxDeux is an new online to-do list manager. It's an easy and well designed application, with minimal user-interface. Could be a life saver for your weekly planing!

This cool free app is now popular and has become one of the best ways to share vintage-looking pics. Take photo with your iPhone, select a filter to achieve your desired retro-feel, then upload the photo to Facebook, Twitter, or Flickr. Easy.

DIY bandana dress. Sweet.

Place mat from cool website.

Easy diner, a 5 ingredients soup.

Little update...

Our summer holidays are half way through. We are currently in beautiful Sweden. Luella’s days consist of picking wild flowers, walks on the beach, some very refreshing dips in the sea, grilling sausages with the grand-parents on the beach, eating berries and kannel bular (kind cinnamon buns).

Our time in the South of France, New York and Marrakesh was fantastic. Travelling with a toddler was relatively easy. Thanks again to all the great tips and blog reading I did before departure.

Hope all of you are enjoying your summer as well.
We look forward to be back on the blog on regular basis by September.

Kind regards. Emily & Luella

From my iPhone, Nice, Marrakesh and New York, with love.
